INTERVENCIONES is an art festival, where artists of the Canary Islands will meet artists from other countries to develop projects in public space in the municipality of Guía de Isora. The first show in 2008 “Between memories and expectations” presents 10 different artistic statements about personal or collective memory in the context of the significant social and territorial transformations in the south of Tenerife.

By combining the different points of view of the local and the foreign artists it was be able to see an interesting exchange of ideas and artistic concepts.

The show was accompanied by a one week workshop, given by a prestigious artist and specialist in the topic. For 2008 we have been able to invite the German artist Horst Hoheisel who will give the workshop titled “The art of memory. The memory of art”

The exhibition project hopefully will be continued, but due to the actual economic crisis in Spain, there is no way to find suficient fundings.
