This work is inspired by the everyday construction situation which was a blatant phenomena in Spain around 2000. During construction, the houses have some kind of ephemeral second skin around them, that unavoidable forms part of the city image without beeing really recognized. The idea was to liberate all these materials from their function to errect an autonomous construction. The sovereign construction has not only an unifying colour but also a self-sufficient lighting that illuminates the exhibition room and not vice versa. The six meter high construction was build without any additional scaffolding.

La construcción de nuevos edificios en los espacios urbanos requiere muchos materiales coadyuvantes como puntales, andamios, chapas, maderas etc. Estas estructuras efímeras envuelven y penetran los nuevos edificios en construcción y se convierten así mismo en construcciones temporales con la función de levantar la casa. En “shift” este material ha sido liberado de su funcionalidad constructiva para poder crear su propio espacio. Pintado de blanco, el cuerpo gana uniformidad y solidez y con su iluminación se convierte en un objeto autónomo que alumbra el espacio de su alrededor.
