This video installation is a sort of a basic 8-bit surrealistic ant-computer, which “calculates” by the movements of the ants. If the ants are touching each other to interchange information, the image inverts and represents in this way one bit. The eight different proyections will give you the impresssion that calculating is going on. But in fact all relations between nature and technology are not valid. Everything is a pure invention where computers don´t have their own life. Or have they?

La idea de las masas urbanas, la comunicación y el intercambio de información se manifiesta en el trabajo de “8 bit”. En este video-instalación hay ocho secciones de video que se pueden relacionar con ocho bits del mundo informático. Las imágenes proyectadas tienen dos posibles estados: normal o invertido. En la proyección vemos hormigas corriendo y tocándose de vez en cuando para intercambiar informaciones. Es justamente en ese momento cuando las imágenes se invierten. La instalación crea la sensación de ver un procesador informático en su momento de calcular, pero en realidad es un modelo conceptual que crea relaciones incoherentes entre la naturaleza de las hormigas y el mundo informatizado del hombre.
